Open Postdoc Position
Post-Doctoral Position in Plant Development
A 2-year post-doctoral position in the framework of the Servero Ochoa Excellence Program is available in our team (PollmannLab). Motivated candidates interested in plant hormone crosstalk as well as genetic variability and studying their impact employing a multi-facetted analysis (plant and seed development, transcriptomics, GWAS, chemical genetics) are invited to apply.
Working Environment
The host group of Dr. Stephan Pollmann is located at the Centro de Biotecnología y Genómica de Plantas (UPM-INIA), one of only 15 centers of excellence Servero-Ochoa in Life Sciences in Spain. The CBGP is an internationally renowned Plant Science Center that offers all necessary infrastructure to perform research at an internationally visible level. Moreover, the CBGP maintains close contact with the private sector, which facilitates interested scientists to collaborate with agricultural industry-related companies or to improve their skills in economic aspects, including patent legislation. Detailed information on the CBGP can be found under: www.cbgp.upm.es.
Our group is now for nearly 10 years located at the CBGP, realising ambitious projects related with plant hormone crosstalk during plant stress responses. Herein, the we use different methodological approaches to achieve our goals ranging from general molecular biology and plant genetics to transcriptomics, live cell imaging, and advanced mass spectrometry. For more detail see: www.pollmannlab.com.
Candidate Profile
We are seeking a highly motivated junior researcher (approx. 1-2 years postdoc experience) with a good publication track record and strong involvement in research projects. Experience in plant molecular biology and plant genetics are highly welcomed. Additional experience in screening approaches and bioinformatics will be positively evaluated. Very good communication skills in English (spoken and written) are expected.
