Welcome on board

Just a few days ahead of Halloween, we are very happy to welcome Irene Viguera Leza as newest member of our crew. Irene is a last year undergraduate student in our Biotechnology grade at the ETSIAAB and she will work on several candidate genes that we identified taking a genome-wide association study (GWAS) approach. The GWAS provided indications for possible candidate genes involved in the IAM-triggered root growth response, and Irene will take a reverse genetics approach to either confirm or falsify the contribution of the selected target genes. Along with the phenotypic analysis of the IAM response of the target genes, Irene will conduct both bioinformatics and transcriptomics work parts during her hand-on training in our lab.
